SCHULTZE GETS THE BLUES is the story of Schultze (Horst Krause), a man who has spent his entire life in a small German town in Saxon-Anhalt near the river Saale. His daily life, which consists of his job, the pub and his hobbies folk music, fishing and working in his allotment, are thrown into confusion when he and his mates Manfred (Karl Fred Muller) and Jurgen (Harald Warmbrunn) are made redundant. As apathy sets in and maintaining the daily routine deteriorates into a farce, Schultze discovers life on the other side of the hill.
