CASABLANCA is making a welcome return to the big screen from Valentine's Day. Sixty-five years on and the film has lost none of its excitement, drama, comedy or romantic charm; its dialogue has become part of our vocabulary and 'As Time Goes By' one of cinema's greatest love songs. This classic love story was directed by Michael Curtiz's (THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD)

World War II Morocco is a bustling city full of Europeans trying to escape Hitler's war-torn Europe. American Richard "Rick" Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) is cynical but good-hearted and his cafe is a thriving hive of activity for everyone from the French Police to the black market to the Nazis.

Out of the blue his long-lost love, Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman) turns up in Casablanca with her Resistance leader husband, Victor Laszlo (Paul Henreid). Rick finds himself drawn into both a love triangle and a web of political intrigue. When Ilsa and Victor need to escape from Casablanca, it is Rick who they turn to for assistance as he may be the only individual who can help them.

Nominated for eight Oscars at the 1943 Academy Awards, the film won three: best picture, best director and best screenplay. It regularly features at the top of all time best movie lists. Filmed in black and white, it has been digitally restored and will be screened via digital cinema and brand new 35mm prints.
