With her bright red pigtails and energetic nature, tales of Astrid Lindgren's Pippi Longstocking, the strongest girl in the world, have been charming children for generations. Now, the rambunctious, wild and free spirited nine-year-old is set to charm cinema audiences in the first animated feature of the classic "home alone" story.
Pippi Longstocking has a habit of doing whatever she wants, whenever she wants to. Before she was seven, Pippi had sailed the seven seas seven times - three times backwards just to keep things from getting boring! Strong-willed and independent, Pippi lives her life by her own rules and is more than capable of looking after herself.
So when her father is lost at sea, Pippi returns to his home in a sleepy Swedish village where she brings mess and mayhem into the lives of Tommy and Annika Settergren and inevitably crosses the path of local busy-body Mrs. Prysselius.
With devious criminals Thunder-Karlsson and Bloom after her trunk of gold dubloons, Pippi uses her strength, inventiveness and resourcefulness to outwit the thieves, the bungling policemen Kling and Klang and the devious Mrs. Prysselius with the help of her two best friends - pet monkey Mr.Nilsson and her horse (called Horse).
A humorous, musical adventure, the incredible strength and mischief of Pippi makes this the ideal family film.
