Synopsis

LOS OLVIDADOS is set in the slums of Mexico City where the film chronicles several days in the life of Pedro, a young boy who lives on the streets, including his relations with his fellow gang members, his loveless mother, and especially with the charismatic, self-serving gang leader Jaibo. Jaibo however soon enough makes Pedro an unwitting accomplice to murder and the two boys' fates become intertwined. Jaibo becomes not only Pedro's surrogate father, but also his rival and inescapable tormentor.

Los Olvidados was Bunuel's first major Mexican film and it established him as a world-class director and helped revolutionise Mexican filmmaking
