Synopsis

From the producers of TEARS OF THE BLACK TIGER comes the perfect summer movie, a potent blend of Elvis Presley-style musical, love story and poisonous social satire in Hysteric Glamour t-shirts. Pan is a loeable rogue, country boy who loves to sing. At any public event he is sure to be seen on stage, belting it out as the lead singer of the local band. At a colourful temple fair he meets the beautiful and unattainable Sadaw. It is love at first sight, for Pan at least.

After month of pursuing the more reticent Sadaw, and with much opposition from her father, they marry and spend a happy time together in their simple but idyllic riverside home. When Sadaw is five onths pregnant Pan gets drafted into the army. Success in a local talent contest turns Pan's head and he goes AWOL to pursue his dream, but instead finds himself fending off the advances of his predatory manager in the mean streets of Bangkok.

Back in the country the devastated Sadaw is seduced by a smooth-talking worm tablet salesman. The hard luck Pan winds up a fugitive from the law, begging on the streets having committed murder in self-defence. The film's message is ultimately redemptive, and love conquers all.
