MERCY STREETS is the story of estranged twin brothers, John, a con-man and Jeremiah a preacher, (both played by David White), who are forced to switch lives. Out of a simple switch emerges repressed feelings of guilt and hate that leaves their lives and the people they love changed forever.
Recently released from prison, John is looking to put the past behind him and make a new start with a legitimate business venture. Plagued by his past and uncertain about his future, he attempts to raise the necessary capital by doing one last job with Rome (Eric Roberts), his father figure and mentor, While on the run from Rome after trying to double cross him, John cunningly steps into the calm suburban life of his twin brother Jeremiah and turns his seemingly perfect life upside down.
Jeremiah, a well-loved and respected priest, is forced into the criminal underworld of his brother when he is taken hostage by Rome and blackmailed into taking part in a counterfeiting scam. Haunted by the guilt of what he believes to be his brother's death, Jeremiah desperately struggles to atone for his transgression and redeem his faith by going along with the plan. However, Rome's simple plan begins to go horribly wrong when Jeremiah escapes and comes face to face with the brother he presumed was dead.
Unable to escape their predicament the brothers turn to each other, only to harshly discover that they cannot turn away from the consequences of their actions or the love and forgiveness of God.
